What to Expect:
After an initial consultation if you determine that we are a good fit we will discuss when and how often additional sessions will be scheduled. Consultations and counseling sessions are fifty minutes. If you are not able to commit to a regular time each week I will do my best to accommodate your schedule on a week to week basis. In our consultation we will discuss your goals, areas of concerns and any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. We will also discuss what to expect in the beginning, middle and ending phases of therapy.
I create a warm, accepting and collaborative environment in order to foster insight and awareness about your areas of concern and to create desired change. I am careful to work at a pace that is comfortable for you as a client. I specialize in relationship concerns including: creating and maintaining satisfying interpersonal relationships, coping with feelings that arise as a result of the ending of relationship and healing from divorce. I also focus on developing improved communication and assertiveness skills to help achieve a greater sense of connection and intimacy in your existing and future relationships. The most important relationship is with yourself. An unhealthy relationship with yourself can manifest as depression, anxiety, lack of impulse control, self-loathing, unhealthy relationship with food, poor body image and eating disorders. When suffering from any of these issues it is difficult to feel satisfied in our relationships. I will work with you to help alleviate the pain that arises from such issues in order to develop new and healthy ways of relating to yourself and others.
